These torsionally stiff, light weight couplings are capable of transmitting high torques at high speeds while accepting significant levels of angular, radial, and axial misalignment. They are easy to install, suitable for hostile environments, require no lubrication and feature a high torque to weight ratio. Specific designs are available which meet the customer’s exact requirements. Standard units are compliant with API 671 (American Petroleum Institute) and ATEX 94/9/EC.

The Model LKT clutch or brake contains identical features to the Model LK unit, with the exception being the cylinder/piston arrangement. The Model LK has a full cylinder covering its entire outboard end, the Model LKT has a doughnut type cylinder which allows it to be mounted in a through-shaft arrangement as an air set brake. It can be also be mounted end-shaft as a clutch. This is a dry, disc type application.

The Model HC is an oil-immersed clutch designed for end-shaft, or through shaft mounting configuration. The compact size of the HC makes these units ideal for incorporation within a gear housing. Multiple speed transmissions use a variety of these units to affect fixed mesh speed changes. The Model HC may be used as a stand-alone device for disconnects service, or conveyor soft starts.
Features include:
| • |
Pneumatic or hydraulic actuation. |
| |
|
| • |
Clutch torque capacities range from 55,000 to 1,275,000 pound-inches. |
